Session 10: The Gospel of the Kingdom

The Olivet Discourse found in the gospels is a lecture by Jesus to the disciples on the signs leading up to his second coming on the last day. In this discourse, Jesus insisted that the “gospel of the kingdom” will be preached and realized on this earth before the end of the world and the beginning of heaven. Christ’s reference to the gospel of the kingdom is a reference to the “good news” described by Isaiah. Isaiah taught that the good news is the messianic kingdom actually being fully realized on this earth when God reigns over this world. This reign of Christ will serve as a testimony to all nations that he is the true Lord of this world. As Christ taught, these extraordinary prophecies of the messianic kingdom being experienced all over the world must be fulfilled on this Genesis earth before he comes again to rapture the saints and take us to heaven.
